Erosion of ancient rivers contributes to the development of underground karst river,and it also controls the accumulation of oil and gas.Auto-tracing of the depth of ancient riverbed is advantageous to drill profitable reservoir.A new algorithm can estimate the depth of ancient riverbed automatically.Firstly,seismic horizon of riverbed can be traced based on estimation of coherence and dip of interface,then the border of ancient riverbed can be realized by means of scanning of multi-windows.At last,the depth of ancient riverbed can be estimated automatically.According to the plot predicted by this algorithm applied in the carbonate reservoir in HLHT area in the Tarim Basin,there were eight ancient channels in this area,and scaled underground karst reservoir located in both sides of river where river eroded reservoir remarkably is developed.
