Relationship between Hydrocarbon Accumulation and Tectonic Evolution in Main Structural Belt of the Northern Border of Qaidam Basin

The northern border of Qaidam basin is a compressional basin or transpressional inland basin developed during the mid-Cainozoic times. This area,derived from the pre-Mesozoic basement blocks,has long been under the impact of Tethys tectonic evolution and the collision of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau since the Jurassic Period and becomes what it is now like because of regional squeezing or twisting. Due to the thrust strike slip of Qilian Mountain in the north of Qaidam,the front of northern Qaidam is mainly of salient plateau,Lenghu Lake\|Nanbaxian structure zone,and Eboliang\|Yahu structure zone. This paper analyzes the corresponding relationship between the tectonic evolution history and oil and gas accumulation of this area,with the optimization of the main tectonic zone based on anatomical key structure. The conclusion shall be of great importance to the oil and gas exploration of the area.
