The formation and distribution of oil and gas fields are greatly associated with discordogenic faults in the Songliao Basin. Great improvement has been made in the exploration of natural gas in the basin, and analyzing the relationship between the Xuxi discordogenic faults and reservoir formation is very important. In terms of the geometric feature of the Xuxi faults, this paper studied the dynamic development of the faults. It is shown that the discordogenic faults control the development of depression and its depositional center, thus controlling the distribution of Sahezi Formation source rocks and Yingcheng Formation volcanic reservoirs. The volcanic reservoirs and source rocks developed along the discordogenie faults form excellent source\|reservoir\|caprock combinations, favorable for the formation of large gas fields.
