塔里木盆地库车坳陷具有十分优越的天然气成藏地质条件,发育有三叠系、侏罗系两套烃源岩,具有第三系两套巨厚膏盐岩和侏罗系煤系地层分别与其下的砂岩组成的3套区域性储盖组合。晚喜山期定型的构造在库车坳陷发育,并与早期生油、晚期生气的两套烃源岩配置颇佳。目前库车坳陷天然气的资源探明率仅为17.5%,还处于勘探的初期阶段,可见天然气资源潜力很大。预测库车坳陷在5年之内可以累计探明天然气10000～11000亿m3,可成为\"西气东输\"工程的可靠资源供应基地。

The Kuche depression in Tarim basin has favorable geological conditions for gas reservoir forming, including development of Triassic and Jurassic source rocks, 3 sets of regional reservoir-seal combination that consist of 2 Tertiary gypsum-salt with huge thickness and Jurassic coal measure strata and sandstones below them. The structures finalized in late Himalayan Movement are developed, and well match with the 2 source rocks that generate oil early period and gas later period. At present, the approved resources rate in the Depression is only 17.5%, thus, the depression is also in the beginning of exploration and with big potential. It can be predicted that the cumulative approved gas reserves of (10 000~11 000)×10+8 m+3 will be found in coming 5 years, and the depression will be the reliable gas supply base for the “West Gas to East” Project.
