In this paper,we described the process of establishing natural gases information system of China using the ArcIMS software based on the natural gas geochemical database.Temporal and spatial distribution and geochemial characters of natural gases in china were discussed by using the data of this system.Taking the natural gas in Ordovician as an example,we discussed its geochemial characteristics and gas source in China and implemented the primary application of the information system.
