Based on the study of Tertiary diagenetic evolutiv e successive and diagenetic characteristics in Dongying depression, the zone num bers of secondary porosity and their depth ranges of all the structural belts ha ve been pointed out, the major controlling factors on secondary porosity are ana lyzed and the occurrence of secondary porosity in each structural belt are summa rized in this article. Humic acids and carbon dioxide generated from matured org anic matter (part of carbone dioxide from inorganic matter)and H+coming from clay minerals’ transition are the general factors, but there are also the additional factors in different structural belt: in northern steep slope area, they are mainly meteoric water and formation water coming from deep; in southern gentle slope area, referring to unconformity;in central uplift area, formation water coming from deep; in sag, abnormal overpressure.
