Controlling factors and patterns of tight oil sweet spots in Paleogene lower Es3 of Shulu Sag of Jizhong Depression,Bohai Bay Basin

Abstract

As a peculiar tight oil/gas reservoir in lithologic,marls-conglomerate tight reservoir exist in the lower Es3 of Shulu Sag in Bohai Bay Basin.It mainly develops in fan delta-lake depositing environment.According to the drilled well data and seismic reflector characteristics,the Lower Es3 is subdivided into two 2nd-order sequences and five 3rd-order sequences.The dominant reservoir rock is marls and conglomerates,in which marls is classified into two types and conglomerates into three.Sweet area of marls-type reservoir is mainly controlled by organic matter abundance,organic matter maturity,and fractures.Laminated marls is sweet area in lithologic for marls-type reservoir.In SQ2 lake transgressive system tract,its organic matter abundance is significant indicating high hydrocarbon generating capability.From slope towards trough,its TOC is increasing and maturity is enhancing,indicating increasing hydrocarbon generating capability.Fractures develop in slope and surrounding faults,but rarely in trough.Laminated marls reservoir develops within intra slope-trough which is favorable oil accumulation area.Sweet area of conglomerates-type reservoir is controlled by rock components,rock structure,fractures and dissolution.Terrigenous grain-supported conglomerates is sweet area in lithologic for this type of reservoir.Existing in the west of sag,western slope and intra trough,this reservoir develops in the proximal part of the alluvial fan caused by slip blocks of various stages which is adjacent to faults.In vertical,this reservoir develops in SQ1-SQ3 strata.
