Abstract

The paper studied the effects of different solvents (n-pentane,dichloromethane) and concentration process on the quantitative results of diamondoids in coal and marine shale. The experimental results show that the extraction of different solvents will make a significant difference in the quantitative results of diamondoids in the sample. The content of diamondoids extracted by dichloromethane is 3 to 37 times that of n-pentane extraction. Moreover, the higher the content of diamondoids in the sample, the greater the difference caused by the extraction solvent. The content of lower diamondoids in the two solvents differs greatly, and the content of higher diamondoids is substantially similar. In addition, the choice of solvent has a significant effect on the diamondoid parameters. The experimental results also show that the concentration process has no obvious effect on the quantitative results of diamondoids.
