Study of first-arrival traveltime tomographic velocityand anisotropy parameters modeling method in 3D VTI media

Abstract

The problem of 3D anisotropic traveltime tomography inversion has always been a difficult point in seismic data processing.The core of it is the establishment of anisotropic parameter sensitivity kernel functions and the processing of 3D large-scale data.Based on the group velocity expression of the spherical harmonic expansion,the paper study calculates the sensitivity kernel function of traveltime for anisotropic parameters,and introduces the shaping regularization to deal with large-scale,III-posed inverse problems.Besides,the study also realized the traveltime tomographic inversion of first-arrival in 3D VTI media by using the conjugate gradient method to inverse the vertical slowness,horizontal slowness and NMO slowness parameterterization (the first parameterization) as well as the Thomsen parameterization (the second parameterization).According to the theoretical models and real data processing results,compared with traditional Thomsen parameterization,the first parameterization is more beneficial to the inversion of 3D anisotropic traveltime tomography velocity and the modeling of anisotropic parameter,improving the accuracy of inversion further,and has a good application prospect.
