Selection of typical calibrated areas and establishmentof the calculation method system of the quantity of resource in Junggar Basin

Abstract

Through analysis of hydrocarbon accumulation characteristics,status quo of exploration and difficulty level in process of resource evaluation of tectonic units in the Junggar Basin,we devided the basin into 5 types (fault,salient,slope,depression,squeezed anticline) and 26 evaluation units.Three principles such as high exploration degree,high understanding degree of geological rules and high exploration rate are used to select 7 reference sections.Combined with the application conditions of the resource evaluation methods and analysis of the reference sections’ accumulation characteristics and geological parameters,we for the first time used “layer play” as subreference sections to conduct our research and confirmed methods of resource amount evaluation in reference sections.Taking Kebai fault zone and west slope zone of Mahu as examples,we explained geological parameters and methods of resource amount evaluation in reference sections in detail.Afterwards we established data base of geological parameters in reference sections and used it to analyze results of resource amount evaluation.The results are consistent with the exploration reality.The establishment of “layer play” as subreference sections not only provides convenience for choosing methods of resource assessment,but also lays the foundation of geological analogy study in other sections of the basin.
