Gas resource potential in Yingtai fault depression of southern Songliao Basin

Abstract

There are three kinds of gas reservoirs in the Yingtai fault depression,southern Songliao Basin:Structure-lithology reservoir in the volcanic rock of the Yingcheng-1 Formation,lithology reservoir in the sedimentary pryoclastics rock of the Yingcheng-2 Formation and sand stone reservoir in the Denglouku-Quantou Formations.Based on analysis of the gas pool features and controlling factors,distribution of each kind has been studied.The resources of these gas reservoirs have been estimated by Delphi method,volumetric method and geological analytical analogy method,respectively.The results of the resources assessment show the total gas resources of the Yingtai fault depression is 284.8bcm,while the remaining is 222.8bcm,accounting for 78%.Especially,the exploration proven rate is only 18% for the lithology gas pool in the sedimentary pryoclastics rock of the Yingcheng-2 member,thus there will be great exploration potential in the future.
