Methodology,new software system and key technology for tight oil resources assessment

Abstract

Based on the analysis of the status of global exploration and production,and studies on resources assessment methods of tight oil,and the research results of the fourth round of petroleum resources assessment of PetroChina,this paper summarizes the methods and work flow of tight oil resources assessment suitable for China,and introduces the structure,modules and functions of the latest evaluation software system.The application of various assessment methods in the fourth round of petroleum resources assessment of PetroChina was studied,and the application effect of this assessment software system was analyzed.In this paper,the small bin method was improved,forming GS prediction technique.The application instance shows that this technique has apparent effect on tight oil resources distribution prediction in the 7th member of the Yanchang Formation in the Ordos Basin.According to the research results,the high-quality tight oil resources are mainly distributed in the following regions:North and south of Jiyuan area,east of Huanxian area,south of Changguanmiao area,northwest and east of Chenghao area,and Taerwan area,etc.The study results can provide useful reference for future tight oil exploration and production in this region.
