Abstract

The sand body of fluvial facies,belonging to the Jurassic Toutunhe Formaiton with thin sand-shale interbed in the Baijahai area of Junggar Basin,is a favorable target of oil-gas exploration and development.Therefore,we carry out classified characterization of the river channel sand body to get high successful ratio in drilling.Taking the second member of the Toutunhe Formation as an example,we divide the river channel into two types of normal and abandoned from the perspective of whether it would be favorable to the oil-gas exploration,verify the wide distribution of the abandoned channels starting from their profile and plan characteristics,and find out the difference between the two channel types through the analysis of electrofacies and physical property.We believe that the existence of the abandoned channel is the main reason of the drilling failure.Controlled by the sedimentary cycle,we choose the sensitive attribute of wave impedance and use the frequency-divided inversion technology to characterize the plan distribution of the second member of the Toutunhe Formation.Then we give the geological interpretation to the attribute plan and finally get the channel(normal and abandoned) distribution in the study area,which provide a favorable reservoir distribution for the further exploration.
