The Laws of Sulfur Deposition Considering Presence of Elemental Sulfur Adsorption and Formation Water

In acidic gas reservoirs,the deposition of elemental sulfur will reduce the space for gas.Further deposits can clog the gas flow channel,resulting in lower gas production.In order to strengthen the law of sulfur deposition in the gas reservoirs with high sulfur content,the following theoretical study was conducted.Considering the existence of sulfur adsorption,the prediction models of sulfur deposition was done;the influence of presence of formation water to sulfur deposition was discussed.The model was calculated for example.The results show that the presence of sulfur adsorption or presence of formation water will further increase the amount of sulfur deposition.Over time,this trend is more evident.The farther to the gas wells,the stronger impact of the former factor.Based on theoretical research,the accumulation rules and deposition laws of elemental sulfur in cores were studied by experience.Through the analysis of experimental results,aggregation of sulfur is from sulfur crystals to form planar elemental sulfur,and then gradually form layered sulfur.Sulfur distribution in the pores is the larger the pore space,the more the amount of accumulated sulfur.
