EUR Distribution Analogous Method:Application to Tight Oil Assessment in Jurassic,Sichuan Basin

Abstract

EUR distribution analogous method is applicable to unconventional resource assessment.Geological settings for tight oil resource exist in Jurassic,central Sichuan Basin.The large number of long-run production wells in this area creates condition for the use of EUR distribution analogous method.This paper divides EUR distribution analogous method into six steps.We calculated the distribution of EUR in three main production layers (J2s1,J1land J1dn) and established a geological evaluation standard for EUR in Jurassic reservoir.The results show that in the best pay zone (Ⅰarea),J2s1 has the highest EUR with a value of 3×10t (50%),while the EUR in J1l and J1dn with the same probability is 2.8×10t and 2.5×10t,respectively.The research also reveals that the well space in theⅠarea is about 1.4km2 (50%),in the Ⅱ area and the Ⅲ area is 0.75-1km2 and 0.35-0.45km,respectively.EUR distribution analogous method was used to calculate the recoverable resource in Gongshanmian and Guihua Oilfields,and the two oil fields have recoverable resource of 1 679.82×10t and 781.53×10t,respectively with an area of 2 000km2 in total.It indicates that the resource potential of tight oil can be great in Jurassic,Sichuan Basin.
