Abstract

Since Mandong 1 Gas Reservoir is a typical tight sandstone gas reservoir in the eastern Tarim Basin,it is necessary to well understand its genetic mechanism.The hydrocarbon charging history has been determined by observation of fluid inclusion petrological characteristics,homogenization temperature testing,reservoir quantitative grain fluorescence analysis.The porosity evolution of reservoir has been restored using porosity evolution model of reservoir.The genetic type and hydrocarbon accumulation mechanism of Mandong 1 Tight Gas Reservoir have been identified by the relationship of hydrocarbon charging history and reservoir porosity evolution history.The result shows that the gas of Mandong 1 Gas Reservoir mainly comes from Cambrian and Lower-Middle Ordovician source rocks.Mandong 1 Gas Reservoir has two-stage hydrocarbon charging history.The first stage is mainly charged by crude oil at late Caledonian-early Hercynian.The second stage is mainly charged by natural gas at late Yanshanian-Himalayan Epoch.Reservoir of Silurian Kepingtage Formation of Mandong 1 Gas Reservoir densified in Late Yanshanian Epoch.Oil-cracking gas of paleo-oil/gas reservoir in Cambrian and Ordovician accumulated in Silurian reservoir during Himalayan Epoch.The genetic type of Mandong 1 Gas Reservoir is “antecedent tight sand gas reservoir” because the period of natural gas charging is later than the period of reservoir densification.Thus,Mandong 1 Gas Reservoir has a promising exploration prospect of oil-cracking gas,especially in lower Paleozoic.
