Magma Intrusion and Its Effects on Enrichment of Shale Gas in Fault Subsidence Basin

Abstract

There existed intense magma activities in fault basin,and the distribution of igneous rocks were very disequilibrium,some of them intruded into mudstones.The intrusive rocks were found greatly promoting the maturity of mud stones and the generation of shale gas by the way of geochemistry analysis.At the same time,the result of rock core observation showed that they made the mudstones produce a lot of fissures.Otherwise,the abnormal high-pressure around the intrusive rocks was found by the logging,which increased the shale stones′ absorption of the gas.These strongly suggested that mud stones around the intrusion rocks were considered to be favorable gathering areas of the shale gas in fault basin.
