Expanding Fracture Distribution of Qikou Sag in Cenozoic and Its Evolution

Abstract

We use the secondary interpretation result of new collecting 5 280km2 3D seismic data to discuss the extension fracture system in the Qikou sag.We think that the first and second order main stretch fracture with rolling evolution characteristics in the Qikou sag is to some extent the typical aspect of the whole basin fault evolution.Thus,we emphatically discuss the evolution of the Cangdong and Binhai faults.The main extensive fault activity in the Qikou sag is representative of the stepwise,migratory aptitude,cyclicity & long term behavior in Cenozoic.The fault activity rolled horizontally from SW to NE direction,reflecting the stepwise and migratory aptitude.The fault activities can be divided vertically into four phases,including mid-Es3 Epoch,mid-Es1 Epoch,end of Ed Epoch,and end of Nm Epoch.Mid-Es1 and Ed Epochs are the main active time of the faults,suggesting the cyclicity and long term behavior of the fault activities.
