Abstract

Palogue field is the largest field in Middle West African. In order to do a reasonable field development plan, authors have finished sequence stratigraphy stud
y and correlation between Yabus and Samma Formations. It shows the studied formations belong to two 3rd order sequences and can be divided into three 4th order sequences, which are named SQ1, SQ2 and SQ3 from top to bottom. The largest flooding surface of the formations is in SQ2. SQ1 is subdivided into three 5th order sequences named SQ1\1, SQ1\2 and SQ1\3; SQ2 is subdivided into three 5thorder sequences named SQ2\1, SQ2\2 and SQ2\3; SQ3 is subdivided into two 5th order sequences named SQ3\1 and SQ3\2. The 5th\|order sequences correspond to sand zones. 
