Accumulation Dynamic of Reef Limestone Reservoirs from Member 4 of Shahejie Formation in Sikou District,Zhanhua Depression,China

Abstract

Based on the logging data,the accumulation dynamic of reef limestone reservoirs in Sikou district is studied in this paper using mudstone sonic log interval curves,equivalent depth method and petromod software. The results show that the abnormal high pressure is widely developed,and its distribution shows dual differences in vertical and planar distribution. Vertically the overpressure is developed at the major source rocks layers,whereas normal pressure dominates at the reef limestone layers. Horizontally the overpressure is developed in the sub sag,but relatively undeveloped in the surrounding high structure. From late Ed to late Ng,the pressure has characteristics of inherited development,showing the feature of structural controlling pressure. The pressure decreased from the sub sag where hydrocarbons are generated to the surrounding high structure. This study will be helpful to ensure the characteristics of pressure distribution during the reservoir formation and deepen the cognition on formation mechanism of reef limestone reservoirs,and will provide reference for the future petroleum exploration in Sikou area.
