Logging and Geological Comprehensive Study for Low Resistivity Layer  in the Shahejie Formation of Coastal Step Area in Qikou Sag

Abstract

We analyze the genetic mechanism of the low resistivity layer in the Shahejie Formation of coastal step in Qikou sag and describe its logging response characteristics. A method for the logging and geological comprehensive researching to the work area low resistivity layer is devised and its application suggests good effect. The method includes steps of comparable portraying of single sand body by combined well logging and seismic data, tracking sand bodies by the comprehensive application of exploration technologies, fine interpretation of inside layer, implementing the hidden sand trap with sandstone group as a unit, identifying favorable reservoirs by various forecasting means, clearing the reservoir accumulation rules, detailing the evaluation unit, and finally giving the overall review and the overall evaluation of the old exploited areas.
