Application of Nuclear Megnetic Resonance Logging (NML)  in Well SX of Unconsolidated Sandstone Gas Field

Abstract

The NML logging as one of the new borehole logging technologies, is a present sole logging tool to measure infiltrating volume of free fluid (i.e. oil, gas, water) in lithologic reservoir. Compared with other logging method, the NML logging has a ablity to explain the bound fluid and dynamic fluid porosity in the interpretation of porosity. The new generation of NML logging instrument is also used to explain clay-bound fluid porosity. It is increasingly advantage to identify the low-resistivity layer in commercial oil and gas pool. There are a large number of low resistance gas layers due to high clay content and formation water salinity in Sebei gas pool as Quaternary unconsolidated sandstone pool, it is difficult by resistivity curves to distinguish low-resistivity layer with water layer or dry layer. The successful case that the NML logging was used in well SX indicate that the NML logging is valid in analyzing and evaluating pore structure of unconsolidated sandstone and nature of fluid.
