According to drilling core, bore well, seismic data, particle size analysis and seismic facies analysis, we confirmed three sequence types of the Low Cretaceous Taoqihe Formation in the Zhanhe rift, and identified five sequence boundaries and four three-order sequences. The Taoqihe Formation is a set of sedimentary formation which belonged to the period of basin large expanding and fault sag conversion in the rift basin. The sedimentary system of alluvial fan, half deep lake-deep lake-sublacutrine fan, and fan delta-braid river delta is developed in the acitc region, hollow zone, and slop region, respectively, from SQ1 to SQ2, which was a sedimentary product during the period of the basin large expanding. The sedimentary system of fan delta, lacustrine, and braid river delta is developed in the acitc region, hollow zone, and slop region, respectively, from SQ3 to SQ4, which was a sedimentary product during the period of the fault sag conversion. The tectonic activity of syndeposit fault is the main factor in controlling the development of sequence and sedimentary evolution. By comprehensive analysis, there is not only development of source rock, but also development of preferable reservoir rock, migration and seal condition in the SQ1, which is the favorable area of source-reservoir-caprock assemblages.
