Sandstones in the lower part of Member 8 of Shihezi Formation in Sulige area, Ordos basin have stress sensitivity of damage in gas reservoir development because of low-permeability reservoirs. Experiments of stress sensitivity by elevating\|reducing the confining pressure with 77 samples from Su 10, Su 11, Su 16 Wells show the stress sensitivity of reservoirs from medium to less strong and that of non-reservoirs strong. The result with slice and reservoir quality researches suggests that the stress sensitivity of Ⅰ,Ⅱ sandstone reservoirs, especially the lithic quartz-sandstones containing kaolins with high permeability when confining pressure 2 MPa, is less strong. These coarse sandstones with less flexible cutting, have kept good residual pores between particles and intergranular pores between coarse-grained kaolins, less impacted when elevateing-reducing the confining pressure.
