The advancement of the coherence technology experienced three generations, the first generation arithmetic based on the theory of cross correlation, the second generation arithmetic based on the multi\|trace similarity theory, and the third generation arithmetic based on the theory of the matrix character structures. We predicted the fractures hidden in the carbonate rocks in the TZ83 area using the coherence technologies, and proved that the coherence cube computed using the third generation arithmetic from the same seismic data can depict the fractures more objective and more fine, improving the lateral resolution.
