Formation Conditions and Distribution Rules of Lithologic Reservoirs in the Southwest Margin of Qikou Sag, and Some Representative Examples

The southwest margin of the Qikou sag is an area where structural-lithologic reservoirs developed, and they are controlled by slope and characterized by unconformity, updip pinching, isolated sandbody, grainstone carbonate and so on. The exploration potential is great and favorable. This article analyses the formation conditions of the hydrocarbon pools at the southwest margin of the Qikou sag, sums up the hydrocarbon distribution rules and reservoir-forming patterns, and points out a feasible direction for exploring lithlogic reservoirs. Hopefully, the methods which we used in this paper will be helpful for oil fields of Bohai Bay Basin.
