Oil-source Analysis in South Slope of Eastern Wulungu Depression, Junggar Basin

Three series of source rocks occur in the Jurassic, the Triassic and the Carboniferous in Wulungu Depression. The Jurassic is a immature source rock, and the Triassic and the Carboniferou are mature source rocks rich in organic matters. The oil source analysis indicates that the crude oil in Dibei 1 Well derives from the Carboniferou source rock. Based on this viewpoint, the structure analysis and the Carboniferous source rock thermal evolution in this study area indicates that the trap closure period is well matched with the generation and expulsion period of the Carboniferou source rock, and the Carboniferou source rock is most favorable in this area.
