PARTICLE SHRINKING DYNAMIC MODEL FOR METHANE HYDRATE DECOMPOSITION

When the temperature is above zero centigrade, methane hydrate decomposition can be regarded as a gas-solid reaction without solid production layer. From crystal dissolution angle, the paper studied on hydrate particle shrinking problem.The paper related particle radius to reaction time with a differential equation and thus built a particle shrinking model of methane hydrate decomposition. Dynamics analysis was done by use of experimental data from the literature, which indicated that interface chemical reaction was the control of the process. Global reaction velocity constant and the activation energy of methane hydrate decomposition. The results from the model match the experimental data perfectly showing that the model is of high reliability.
